NewAmsterdam Pharma has hired Ian Somaiya as chief financial officer of the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company.
The Netherlands-based company said Somaiya has more than 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the biopharmaceutical industry and most recently served as chief financial and business officer of Elucida Oncology.
NewAmsterdam in March said David Topper had resigned as chief financial officer after providing advice and guidance through its combination with a black-check company, and that its chief accounting officer, Louise Kooij, would serve as interim finance chief while the company conducted a search for a successor.
